AS 4425:2020 PDF
The objective of this Standard is to provide cemetery authorities with minimum structural design criteria, performance, installation and renovation requirements for above-ground burial structures.
This Standard was prepared by Standards Australia Committee BD-071, Cemetery Monuments, to supersede AS 4425—1996, in response to the cemetery industry and a subsequent survey.
The objective of this Standard is to provide cemetery authorities with minimum structural design criteria, performance, installation and renovation requirements for above-ground burial structures.
This Standard is intended to cover all possible above-ground structures that are used to inter human remains, including those commonly known as mausoleums, mausolea, vaults, family vaults, crypts, garden crypts and similar. Descriptions may vary with location. Cemeteries operate under State law and there may be specific requirements for entombment of human remains, which affect the design, construction and use of structures built in different States.
