AS 2596:2022 adopts and modifies UN Regulation No. 16:2020 (Rev. 10) and its Amendments 1 and 2 (2021) for Australia, which specify minimum performance requirements for seat belt assemblies and part assemblies intended for use by adults and larger children or in conjunction with certain child restraints in accordance with AS/NZS 1754 and for installation in motor vehicles.
This Australian Standard ® was prepared by CS-075, Seat Belts for Use in Motor Vehicles. it was approved on behalf of the Council of Standards Australia on 8 June 2022.
